(KHAAMA Press): s war is escalating in Afghanistan and the Taliban have taken four provinces, the already host-country of the slow-moving intra-Afghan talks, Qatar is ready to host two other international meetings on peace in Afghanistan. The Troika plus is planned to be arranged on Wednesday this week which will be attended by US special representative to Afghan peace Zalmay Khalilzad and diplomats from Pakistan, Russia, and China. The group is also said to be consulting with the political office’s members of the Taliban based in the Qatari capital Doha and the negotiating team of the Afghan government. The extended Troika meeting is aimed at making both parties in Afghanistan resume meaningful intra-Afghan peace negotiations. Meanwhile, another international meeting is also planned to be held in Doha prior to the Troika plus. The Tuesday meeting is intended to be attended by the immediate neighbors of Afghanistan, Russia, the United States, and the United Nations. Head of High Council for National Reconciliation Abdullah Abdullah along with State Minister in Peace Affairs Sayed Saadat Mansoor Naderi is due to leave Kabul for Doha Monday evening. Both the meetings will follow the lead of the UNSC’s special session on Afghanistan and will seek a political settlement in the war-ravaged country. United States is taking part in both the meetings as the Taliban’s political office spokesperson Naeem Wardak accused the US of interfering in internal affairs of Afghanistan in his interview with Al Jazeera.
