(Pajhwok): Some local officials and residents on Friday acknowledged the fall of Jalreez district in central Maidan Wardak province to the Taliban while security officials have not yet confirmed the development. Sharifullah Hotak, the Provincial Council, member said the Taliban captured Jalreez district. He said the district felt to the Taliban after security forces not provided reinforcing and equipment. A local source wishing not to be named the Taliban captured Jalreez district on Friday morning after five days of siege. The Taliban Spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid in his twitter account wrote: “Today Jalreez district of Maidan Wardak with all government buildings captured by the Taliban .” Security officials in Maidan Wardak have not spoken so far.
