On 8 December 2020, Mr. Hekmat Khalil Karzai, Chairman of the Centre for Conflict and Peace Studies (CAPS) hosted Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mansoor Ahmad Khan for a luncheon. Welcoming Amb. Khan on his first visit to CAPS, Mr. Karzai briefed him on CAPS’ activities. Both sides discussed the ongoing intra-Afghan peace talks, as well as the role of neighboring countries in the current peace process, and the security situation of the country. He further stated that Afghanistan and Pakistan have a long relationship and for the most part including but not limited to economy, and security, they are dependent on each other Mr. Khan asserted that he is optimistic about the negotiation and wants peace for Afghanistan.. At the end of the meeting, Mr. Khan emphasized that Pakistan expands its cooperation and engagement at every level and segment possible with Afghanistan.
