On 28 October 2020, Mr. Karzai held a VTC with Ambassador Markus Potzel, the German Special Envoy for Afghanistan. Ambassador Potzel mentioned to Mr. Karzai that he is heading to Doha where he will meet with both sides of the Afghan conflict while trying to see how the deadlock can be resolved. Mr. Karzai also briefed Ambassador Potzel on the latest security situation and also what was happening in Doha after the formation of the new contact group.
