On 22 October 2020, Mr. Karzai visited Mr. Salahuddin Rabbani, Head of Jamiat-e Islami, and had a comprehensive conversation about the current security situation and the peace process. Mr. Rabbani briefed Mr. Karzai on his latest visit to Badakhshan province where the security situation has deteriorated rapidly. Furthermore, Mr. Karzai informed Mr. Rabbani about the security situation in Helmand and Kandahar provinces where security conditions were quite dangerous. Mr. Rabbani and Mr. Karzai also assessed the current on-going peace talks in Doha. Mr. Rabbani mentioned that their party was in talks with other political figures to see what outcome the Doha talks will produce.
