On February, 4 2020 CAPS Chairman Hekmat Khalil Karzai hosted Ambassador and Charge d ‘ Affaires of the U.S. Embassy H.E. Ross Wilson, along with his colleagues Deputy Chief of Mission Ms Karen Decker, Peace and Reconciliation Counselor Mr Dante Paradiso, and Political Officer of the US Embassy Ms Stephanie Oviedo. Welcoming Ambassador Wilson on his first visit to CAPS, Mr Karzai briefed him on the activities of CAPS. Both sides discussed the position of Afghan government and the Taliban, the role of neighboring countries and the general situation of prisoners during the current peace process efforts that are moving forward. Mr Karzai stated that the so much existing mistrust should be bridged in the on-going negotiations by the Afghan government and the Taliban. Ambassador Wilson added that Afghans should stand firm echoing one voice as a nation to win the process.
