MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0 Research, analysis and report writing
\n2.\u00a0\u00a0 Conduct empirical, field based and secondary research on various issues effecting
\nAfghanistan.
\n3.\u00a0\u00a0 Management:
\n4.\u00a0\u00a0 Recruitment and mentoring of new analysts
\n
\nSPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n

A.\u00a0\u00a0 Develop and implement a strategy for fundraising
\nB.\u00a0\u00a0 Key tasks include creating and refining research methodology; undertaking
\nsecondary research,primary field research; data analysis; writing and editing weekly
\npolitical and security assessments; making presentations of the findings; and other
\nresearch support as required;
\nC.\u00a0\u00a0 Represent CAPS in international conferences and seminars
\nD.\u00a0\u00a0 Represent CAPS at relevant meetings with external stakeholders (Government
\nAgencies, Tribal Leaders, UN and affiliated agencies, Donors, NGOs, Academia,
\nMedia, among others) and in
\nnational\/international conferences;
\nE.\u00a0\u00a0 Traveling to provinces as and when required, security permitting<\/p>\n

Management:<\/strong><\/p>\n

F.\u00a0\u00a0 Assist the management in recruitment and mentoring of new analysts\/researchers;<\/p>\n

Others:<\/strong><\/p>\n

G.\u00a0 Post-holder may occasionally be called on for other duties as assigned<\/p>\n

KEY DELIVERABLES<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Project based deliverables<\/p>\n

EDUCATION:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Master\u2019s Degree in social sciences; political science, international relations, security studies,
\ninternational development, economics, law, business, mass communication, and other
\nrelevant disciplines.<\/p>\n

EXPERIENCE:<\/strong><\/p>\n

At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in social sciences research, in particular, political and security research and analysis. Other experiences relevant to this work are policy analysis, teaching\/training, advocacy and writing.\u00a0 Field Experience is an advantage.<\/p>\n

Experience in drafting high quality analytical products, assessments and reports is desirable.<\/p>\n

Field experience will be considered as an asset to this position.<\/p>\n
