Located in Kabul, Afghanistan, CAPS is an independent, research centre that strives to conduct action-oriented research which will influence policy-makers. It works diligently towards building local capacity to produce conflict and threat assessments that will influence the safety and security of the people serving the governments, and international aid organizations.

Waris Ahmad Faizi joined CAPS in June 2013 as a Research Analyst, and is responsible for qualitative and quantitative research on conflict issues in Afghanistan. Among his daily tasks, he is responsible for tracking and analyzing key political developments pertaining to the region, and contributing to ongoing major projects at CAPS.

Mr. Faizi has previously worked with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan as an Information Officer, and has contributed to the Ministrys monthly publication. He has also worked as the Project Manager Assistant with American Construction Logistic Services (ACLS).  

Mr. Faizi is a Fulbright Scholar and has a masters degree in political science from Lehigh University, Pennsylvania, United States.
