Located in Kabul, Afghanistan, CAPS is an independent, research centre that strives to conduct action-oriented research which will influence policy-makers. It works diligently towards building local capacity to produce conflict and threat assessments that will influence the safety and security of the people serving the governments, and international aid organizations.

BIOGRAPHY


Mr.Sayed Mujtaba Hashimy joined CAPS in 2013 as a Research Analyst. His research focus is mainly on peace building and conflict resolution. Beside the weekly and monthly task of writing commentary and political overview, he is responsible for gathering quantitative and qualitative data on peace and conflict issues in Afghanistan. During his university, he wrote research papers concentrating on different alternatives to reach to an extensive and stable peace in Afghanistan. Currently he is focusing along with other research team on two main projects: Alliance Formation of Armed Group (United States Institute of Peace (USIP) and (Evaluation of Existing Legal Help Centres (LHCs) and Provincial Women Development Council (PWDCs) in Four Provinces (UNDP Gender Equality Project.)

Mr. Hashimy has attended many local and regional conferences representing Afghanistan. .

In university he has been member of Model United Nation and Political Science clubs leadership. He finished university with an honor award having the highest GPA.

Besides having background in political science, he is an active member of Gulam Mohammand Maimanagi Art Center. He established a website without generating any profit to sell the artistic works of poor Afghan artists.
