BIOGRAPHY


Saifullah Ahmadzai serves as a Senior Research Analyst at the Centre for Conflict and Peace Studies (CAPS) in Kabul, Afghanistan. His current areas of research include provincial assessments, profiling, Violent Actors Project and the Role of Media in Conflict Project. In addition, he is responsible for monitoring the Security Development and contributing to the Weekly Country Report.

Prior to joining CAPS, Mr. Ahmadzai was working as a Head of India and South Asian Affairs in Regional Studies Centre of Afghanistan, (a local Think-Tank) and Assistant Chief Editor for the Regional Studies Journal.

Mr. Ahmadzai has written extensively in English and in local languages on regional issues such as China-India rivalry in south Asia, US policy toward south Asia and SAARC and Afghanistan etc,. Many of his articles have been published in various Magazines and Newspapers. He also contributes regularly to the Afghanistan Daily Newspapers including Afghanistan Times.  

Mr. Ahmadzai was born in Paktia Province of Afghanistan and in addition to Pashto and Dari, he is fluent in English. He can also understand Japanese and Urdu.
