ISAF soldier killed in eastern Afghanistan
A soldier of the International Security Assistance Force(ISAF) was killed in an explosion in eastern Afghanistan, the military said onThursday.
The blast was caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), said a statementfrom ISAF headquarters here.
"It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of this service-memberand we offer our condolences to his grieving family," said ISAFSpokesperson Captain Mark Durkin.
Without revealing name and nationality of the soldier, the spokesperson said,"This service-member's valiant efforts will not be forgotten, andencourages us to continue our vital mission to bring security to the people of Afghanistan.
