Kabul welcomes extension in German troops' stay
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghan government has welcomed the decision of Germany government to extend its troops presence in Afghanistan for another year.
The Germany parliament decided yesterday to keep its military presence in Afghanistan for the next one year as part of the NATO Resolute Support mission.
Currently 1,200 German soldiers are stationed in Afghanistan, most of them in northern Balkh province.
The Afghan government welcomed German extension in its troops stay in the war-torn country for one more year in the NATO Resolute Support (RS) Mission.
A statement from the National Security Council to Pajhwok Afghan News said German soldiers would could to play their role in training and assisting Afghan security forces.
