Roadside blast in Kandahar leaves 1 civilian dead, 4 injured
KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): One person was killed and four others injured in a blast in the Shawalikot district of southern Kandahar province on Friday, an official said.
Police Chief Brig. Gen. Tadin Khan told Pajhwok Afghan News a landmine bomb exploded on civilian vehicle in which members of a family were traveling.
The driver was killed in the blast while four others including women and children were injured, he said. Soon after the blast police arrived in the area and shifted the injured to the hospital.
The mine was fixed by the Taliban recently to target civilians, according to Tadin Khan.
