Wolesi Jirga candidate killed in Kandahar blast

KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): A Wolesi Jirga candidate from southern Kandahar province Asadullah Mashouri was killed in a magnetic bomb blast on Monday, an official said.
Aziz Ahmad Azizi, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident happened in Fabrika Sari locality in Kandahar city, the provincial capital, shortly after 4pm.
He said the blast was caused by a magnetic bomb which had been attached to Ashouri’s vehicle. Police were investigating the incident, Azizi concluded.
There has been no claim of responsibility for the blast.
Asadullah Mashouri contested the Wolesi Jirga polls as an independent candidate from southern Kandahar province and gained 558 votes.
