Balkh man decapitates wife
MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): A former Afghan National Army (ANA) soldier has beheaded his 30-year-old wife in the Balkh district of northern Balkh province, an official and residents said on Sunday.
Ahmad Shah Khan, a resident of the Bokai village, told Pajhwok Afghan News the couple were married five years back and have two children.
He said, “After returning from her father’s home, the husband took his wife to another yard where no other family member was present and chopped off her head after beating her badly.”
The motive behind the incident yet to be ascertained, however, he said adding family conflict might be behind the incident.
He said the killer had served as ANA soldier for one year suffered from psychological illness.
Another resident of the area Mohammad Ayub told Pajhwok Taliban militants took the killer in their custody after beheading his wife.
A security official, who wished to go unnamed, told Pajhwok the incident happened in the Bokai village of the district late on Saturday afternoon.
The killer managed to escape after beheaded his wife, he added.
Police spokesman Adil Shah Adil said he was unaware about the incident but heard the issue from some folks.
