7 police killed in Taliban attack on Farah checkpoint

FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Seven police personnel manning a check-post have been killed in Taliban attack in the Bala Buluk district of western Farah province, an official said on Sunday.
Dadullah Qane, a member of provincial council, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the militants stormed a security check-post on Farah-Kandahar highway in Chakaw area of the district at 8pm.
Seven policemen were killed, he said, adding the rebels took away all the weapons and ammunition from the post.
Provincial Police Chief refused to comment about the incident.
Taliban spokesman Qari Yousuf Ahmadi claimed the fighters overran the post, killing seven policemen and seizing 11 weapons.
