KABUL (Pajhwok): The Indian army and other government agencies are keeping a close eye on developments in Afghanistan, a top military commander says.

Lt. Gen. Ranbir Singh, general officer commanding in chief for the northern command, said they were monitoring actions of various stakeholders in the war-torn country.

“I assure you that we remain prepared for any contingency," Singh told journalists after an investiture ceremony at the Northern Command Headquarters in Udhampur.

Amid talks between the US and Taliban on the pullout of American troops from Afghanistan, DNA quoted the military commander as asserting the Indian army’s preparation for any eventuality.
