6 rebels killed in Kandahar raid

KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Six militants have been killed and nine others arrested in Special Forces operation in the Shah Walikot district of southern Kandahar province, an official said on Tuesday.
Police spokesman Zia Durrani told Pajhwok Afghan News the overnight raid was conducted in Gondalano area on tip-off.
Four vehicles, 15 motorcycles, weapons and explosives have been recovers during the raid conducted from 9:00pm to 12:00am on Monday night, he added.
The Taliban have not commented about the incident.
Separately, the body of a civilian has been recovered from Madad Khan Square in the limits of first police district of Kandahar City, the provincial capital.
Police says investigation has been launched and the case is of criminal nature.
