KUNUZ CITY (Pajhwok): One security official was killed and four others were injured in a suicide attack in northern Kunduz province on Tuesday, police said.
The suicide attack, which targeted National Directorate of Security (NDS) agents, took place in the Dobandi area of Chardara district around 12:00 noon.
“During an NDS operation, a suicide blast happened. The bomber detonated his explosive jacket after being asked to stop,” deputy police chief Col. Safar Mohammad Akbari told Pajhwok Afghan News.
As usual, the Taliban claimed responsibility for the suicide blast. Zabihullah Mujahid, the groups’ spokesman, said the suicide-car blast was carried out by Shafiqullah, a resident of Qala-i-Zal district.
