May 10, 2017 - 11:15

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A Taliban-designated chief for Khogyani district has been killed during a clash in eastern Nangarhar province, an official claimed on Wednesday.

Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News Wafiullah -- alias Omar -- was killed by Afghan forces in the Kozbiar area of the district late on Tuesday.

He said Enayatullah, a close associate of Wafiullah, was seriously wounded during the gunbattle. The Taliban, however, have not yet commented on the incident.
