Youth Peace Movement and Empowerment Centre

Introduction

Centre for Conflict and Peace Studies (CAPS) is implementing the project of Youth Peace Movement and Empowerment Centre (YPMEC) in Helmand funded by the Royal Danish Embassy. One of the two programs of YPMEC is Advocacy and Education Awareness aimed at educating youth on pivotal and relevant issues through seminars and training workshops. This report describes the first phase of Advocacy and Education Awareness conducted in Lashkar Gah by CAPS in March 2012.

CAPS-Helmand office conducts evaluation of the students’ performance in all English language, computer and Concord programs on a weekly basis. The senior management holds regular meetings with the teaching staff receiving their feedback regarding the students’ weekly progress and discussing issues that need to be dealt with. CAPS reports indicate that students in all sections found the YPMEC program of supplemental courses effective and progressive.
